In Utero is the album of Nirvana's that is the most personal to me. Its the album I bought to take to uni with me, its the album I listened to when Cobain departed this mortal coil, it has other memories embedded into my DNA. Its a sad moment in music history where a band who had the world at their feet recorded a moment of brutal beauty/5().

The DVD with Seasons in the SUn is from Rio Di Janeiro and Marigold comes from the "IN UTERO" sessions, which were redorded in the U.S. Marigold wasnt even recorded in Rio. So there you go. I have heard that Dave played drums and guitar and Krist on Bass to, just like Matt.

To say that Nirvana's third and ultimately final studio album In Utero was 's most polarizing record would be the understatement of a decade. The unadorned sonic rawness of Steve Albini's recording laid bare every primal nuance of the most confrontational yet vulnerable material Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl would ever record.

Oct 23,  · Nirvana’s In Utero always has been ripe with context.. Upon release in , it wasn’t just the group’s third full-length record proper; it was arguably a middle-finger to the industry that fanned the flames of Kurt Cobain’s celebrity while positing itself about as accessible a .

Aug 24,  · I know of the 12 album tracks, plus Sappy, I Hate Myself And Want To Die, and Moist *****. That leaves three songs unaccounted for if that 18 number is correct. I assume Marigold wouldn't have been on the list because that was Dave's song, and Gallons Of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through The Strip was just an improvised jam.

It looks incredible. And it includes a set of bonus cuts and added features that should make every Nirvana fanatic as happy as a flannel-clad grunge rocker in a Doc Martens store. They got it right. They really, really got it right. To celebrate/cash-in on the 20th anniversary of In Utero, Universal made four different versions of the album.
