For the next album Under the Sun () the whole line-up around Carr was changed (e.g. reeds player Bob Bertles, keyboardist Gordon Beck and guitarists Jocelyn Pitchen and Ken Shaw). The two final Vertigo albums albums, Snakehips Etcetera and Alleycat (both ) are funkier in style.

While Nucleus remained a band worth following, there is no question that by the time Under the Sun was released they had reached a plateaux, one that would not be overcome on their next release, '75's Snakehips Etcetera. With a stable line-up of Carr, Bertles, Shaw, Castle, Sutton and newcomer Roger Sellers on drums, gone were the days of more.

Ian Carr continues to go up and down with the ever inconsistent Nucleus. Under The Sun was a high point for the ever changing fusion act but Snakeships Etcetera is nothing but a cheesy pimped up album with little of the charm that its predecessor had. The line up is similar to the group on the last album, though Pitchen has now gone after only a bit part on the last one.

Nucleus was a short lived canadian band which recorded only one album called just Nucleus in Their music is a very organ-driven proto-prog/heavy psych rock similar to such bands as Arcadium from UK or Sugarloaf from USA. Quite great and full of intresting parts and original aswell.
